\n<\/a>sometimes<\/span> a piece of music just grabs the moment and right now for me it is <\/span>la vie moderne<\/span> by <\/span>L\u00c3\u00a9o Ferr\u00c3\u00a9,<\/span>who was a French-born Mon\u00c3\u00a9gasque poet and composer, and a dynamic and controversial live performer, whose career in France dominated the years after the Second World War until his death…and also we start the broadcast with <\/span>Golden Dark<\/span>, the haunting new collaboration between <\/span>elo masing and david john hull,<\/span> a tune which has grabbed me for somewhat different reasons….\u00c2\u00a0<\/span>
\nso\u00c2\u00a0why ferr\u00c3\u00a9?<\/span> perhaps this song\u00c2\u00a0encapsulates a particular\u00c2\u00a0european modernism, a swing, a twist upon so much culture, the unique francophone traditions of chanson… with the world dashing backwards\u00c2\u00a0from reason and truth this music has me perhaps, spinning in a better time….
\n<\/span>so.. we play it four times, at different\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0durations (same pitch), as a meditation, and a celebration……..<\/span><\/p>\n
