Suicide<\/b> is an American electronic<\/a> protopunk<\/a> musical duo, intermittently active since 1970 and composed of vocalist<\/a> Alan Vega<\/a> and Martin Rev<\/a> on synthesizers<\/a> and drum machines<\/a>. They are an early synthesizer\/vocal musical duo.<\/p>\n

Never widely popular amongst the general public, Suicide are highly influential: critic Wilson Neate argues that Suicide “would prove as influential as The Clash<\/a>. The synthpop<\/a>, techno<\/a>, and industrial dance<\/a> sounds of the ’80s and ’90s, and now the new New Wave of electroclash<\/a>, all gesture back to that foundational album.”[1]<\/a><\/sup><\/p>\n
